Pregnancy Week - 37

Mother:
A pregnancy is considered a "term" pregnancy at this point and nothing will be done to stop labor in most circumstances. You should plan to take a tour of your birth facility if you have not previously. If you are having a home birth try to invite everyone over for a quick run through of what you expect.

Many women wonder if they will really know when labor has begun. There are several ways to tell the difference between real labor and prelabor. Hopefully you have given breastfeeding some thought.

Baby:
Your baby is practicing breathing by inhaling amniotic fluid. Sometimes the baby will even get hiccoughs! Remember to feel these last few weeks of kicks, believe it or not you will miss them. If you have questions about your baby’s movements be sure to call your midwife or doctor immediately.

Dad:
If you haven’t helped her pack a bag for labor or get the house ready. Right now she could go into labor safely at any point.

Twin Tips:
If you haven’t already addressed the envelopes on your birth announcements you might want to go ahead and do that! Remember once your babies are here there will be a lot of things going on and the birth announcements will probably be low on that list. Do everything you can before the birth of your babies so that you can enjoy what little quiet time you’ll have after you come home with your bundles of joy.
