Travel in pregnancy is completely safe and sometimes unavoidable, if you keep in mind the following precautions:
You are having a normal pregnancy
Drink to thirst and eat to comfort
Dress for the trip
Stay comfortable and move frequently
Air Travel
Avoid air travel in the last few weeks of pregnancy, most airlines enforce this rule
Avoid nonpressurized high altitude flights
Avoid the smoking sections, if allowed on your flights
Car Travel
Always wear your seat belt, with the bottom belt across your hips, not over your abdomen
Stop and stretch or go to the bathroom at least every two hours
Take snacks
Take pillows
Carry your prenatal record from your practioner (particularly around your due date)
Check with your practioner before taking any vaccinations or medications
Enjoy yourself!
